If you've looked at the websites for beginners page and determined that all you need is a free basic website, I have a recommendation for you. When all I needed was a free basic website, I used a company called Doteasy.com. They literally provide free hosting. You have to buy your domain name of course. You can't host a website without a domain name anyway, so you may as well go for it. If you're having trouble picking a domain name, why not take a look at the choosing a domain name article. It can be a daunting task because SO many domain names, especially .com's are taken already. You really need to kick your creativity into high gear before setting out to pick a domain name.
